About us
Viaton was born in the laboratories of Uppsala University. Its founders have years of experience developing biomaterials that make life easier for patients. When the COVID-19 pandemic started, we knew that we needed to find ways to use our expertise in materials science to help those in need.
Our challenge was not only to identify antiviral materials but also to find ways to make them more effective and easier to use. The solution is our patented oxidised silicon nitride powder that has the ability to capture and rapidly inactivate pathogens. Our own research as well as independent third-party testing has shown that our material can inactivate a multitude of viruses as well as the SARS-CoV-2 virus, responsible for the ongoing pandemic.
We envision using our material on its own as well as in combination with other solutions and materials to help make everyday life safer.
